Running your own business is challenging and can be draining both mentally and physically. Here are few things to help you through:

Workout

There are numerous studies done to show advantages of working out. Make going to the gym part of your routine and only allow yourself to miss it if you have a valid reason. Do not think about it as working out. Go have fun with it! Join a team or attend some yoga classes.

Setup realistic work day

Running your own business shouldn't be a 24 hour thing! You should setup hours like 7 to 4 or something that works with your schedule and stick with it. Take regular breaks and stay hydrated!

Have no-screen time

In this day and age, it is hard to imagine but do at least an hour before your bed time, turn off all electronic devices!

Do something creative

Learn to meditate

When is the last time you did absolutely nothing for 10 whole minutes? Not texting, talking or even thinking? Mindfulness expert Andy Puddicombe describes the transformative power of doing just that: Refreshing your mind for 10 minutes a day, simply by being mindful and experiencing the present moment. (No need for incense or sitting in uncomfortable positions.)

Automate the mundane!

Are you spending hours on kijiji or craigslist for pet toys or rustic wall art? With online services available today you can automate this work. Here are some services that are worth learning to save your time and automate stuff:

IFTTT provides triggers and actions. Triggers can be various actions like change in time, tweet containing certain text, news event, kijiji post with certain word etc. These trigger can then perform certain actions like tweet for you, email you stuff etc. Look for some interesting automation recipes here: https://ifttt.com/recipes

Buffer helps with social media management automation. You don't need to tweet everyday at 8AM or post a new facebook post during lunch time, you can get buffer to do it for you. Here is their website: https://buffer.com/

DealSketch (a little shameless self promotion!): We're working on a service to automate document collection. If your business needs document collection, you know it can be very time consuming. If you're using emails or any that are manual and require reminding clients, you should try out DealSketch. It automates the collection cycle and organizes your document in one place.
